I realize this is short, but I need some clarification on absentee voting. I don't want my 18 year old to miss her first chance at voting.
My daughter is registered in Illinois. She lives at school in Missouri. She was going to mail in her absentee ballot request to Illinois, but she said someone from Rock the Vote told her she cannot vote absentee if it's her first time voting, but that she can vote on campus? It doesn't sound right to me. Any help out there??
UPDATE: Thanks Kossacks for the brainstorming, and helping me to get it figured out. She has until October 8 to register in Missouri, she can register there and vote in person on campus. It seems as though because she registered initially in Illinois by mail, she actually could not vote by absentee ballot for the first time voting. Registration deadlines are nearing, and your first time voter may not be properly registered to vote by absentee ballot.
