Please pick up your voter registration form from your post office or library, fill it out, and send it right away. This election is too important to pass up.
This is the election that will decide the direction of the American future. It will decide where America will be among the nations in the world for the 21st century. It will decide whether our children will live in peace or whether they will fight a war again somewhere in the world. It will decide whether we will help progress in China or we will live under the threat of conflict with China. This election is too important for us to pass up.
I just got the following email from a friend, who is active in Asian American politics.
Dear xgz,
Could you please spread the words around if you agree with my point of view here? Thanks.
By the way, the Bay Area Asian American organizations had found channels to express our disappointment to Nancy Pelosi. She is much quieter on the China issues, now.

The election is coming. The lesson we learned from the media and politician's attacks to Chinese during the Olympic torch relay should not be forgotten.
In all levels of elections from local, state to federal, candidates all start with analyzing the database, which shows the participation of each ethnic group from past elections. If we don't improve our voting rate, we will never become the group of people they care about. Please check the correct ethnic group on your voter's registration form, and take part in every election. To register to a political party gives you rights to vote in the primary election depending on your state law. Please don't give up that right.
If you still haven't registered, please goto local library or post office to pick a form and send out right away. Please tell your friends and family members to do the same thing.
The only way to make democracy work for us is to vote, and show the politicians that we care about our own rights.
I agree with her 100%. Let's not forget that McCain met with the Dalai Lama this year before the Olympics. This clearly telegraphs how he would deal with China if he is elected. That's the risk we cannot afford. Obama has demonstrated much better understanding on this issue, and has repeatedly shown leadership we can trust.
The nonpartisan Asian American advocacy group 80-20, with the goal of promoting Asian American participation in elections, has endorsed Senator Obama for president. Let's work hard and achieve our goal of delivering 80% Asian American votes to Obama. And let's also elect local officials that will listen to our needs. Only when we demonstrate our politican power, will politicians like Nancy Pelosy really listen to us.
Please spread the words among your Asian American friends and get them to register and vote!
