I watched the debate
in one of San Diego's coolest Gaslamp neighborhood nightclubs, Stingaree.
it was great to watch it with so many Obama supporters -- and it was an exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous crowd.
I sat next to Dr. Mona, a refugee from Iraq who is staying at my house while she acculturates to the US. (She had to flee her country a few months ago due to death threats from the Shia taking over the Iraqi Ministry of Health.)
Mona is a medical doctor with about 15 years of clinical experience. When we left the debate, she asked me: "What would happen if McCain didn't make it to the November election?" I said I wasn't sure but that I thought we'd probably have President Palin...but why did she ask?
She said that she did not think McCain looked well at all. She noticed his shortness of breath and thought he appeared tired, physically weak, and rather totter-y after standing for awhile. She said she wasn't surprised that he left right away and attributed it to how he felt physically rather than psychologically after the debate.
So does anybody know the answer to her question?
