State purges of voter rolls illegal
By using the Social Security Database to check incoming applications, election officials are finding mismatches in way too many cases and rejecting them. Trouble is that federal law states that SS databases are supposed to be used only in last resort.
When all these newly registered voters appear at the polls, they can and will be challenged by poll observers as well as election workers themselves. This leads to delays, anger, and frustration. Add to that the potential chicanery of sending limited numbers of voting machines to Democratic districts as happened some places last election and you can see why there is cause to worry.
This reminds me of the big push in Florida to sign up all Republican voters for absentee voting. Applications were sent to all of them to ensure that their folks would get their votes in.
Remember, there are plenty of tricks that can still be pulled to steer the election. Don't hold that victory party yet!
