OMG, it's a brilliant ad. And I'm hoping Planned Parenthood used those donations made in Sarah Palin's name to get this on the air:
This ad, according to TPM, will run in Missouri, Wisconsin, and the Northern Virginia media markets.
We've been waiting for someone, anyone, to get this message out to the masses. So show your appreciation by donating in honor of Sarah Palin to Planned Parenthood or Planned Parenthood Action Fundtoday.
For those of you living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, Sarah Palin, as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, authorized that rape victims be charged for their own forensic testing. Why? It isn't hard to imagine that it is because forensic rape testing goes hand in hand with STD testing and the offering of emergency contraceptives. Or maybe there is some knuckle-dragging belief that all accusations of rape are false accusations.
John McCain also voted against legislation that would protect women from being charged for rape kits.
With a tip of the hat to TomP, here's a transcript of the ad--
Gretchen: I just didn’t think it would happen to me. I was drugged and raped.
Announcer: Under Mayor Sarah Palin, women like Gretchen were forced to pay up to $1,200 for the emergency exams used to prosecute their attackers.
In the Senate, John McCain voted against legislation to protect women from these same heartless policies.
Gretchen: That is something to me that’s unthinkable. It scares me to death.
VO: Planned Parenthood Action Fund is responsible for the content of this advertising and urges you to get the facts.
