(From the diaries. Bush was in Florida raising money to help defeat Annette Taddeo, among other great South Florida Democrats. Let's do our part to help her fight back -- kos)
On Wednesday, O2B Better Democrat Annette Taddeo and Bush Rubberstamp Ileana Ros-Lehtinen met in a forum at Miami’s Chamber of Commerce. Ros-Lehtinen refuses to debate Annette head to head, and insisted on getting the questions in advance. But it was still quite a show.
Ros-Lehtinen really is out of touch. Despite the collapse of the stock market, Ros-Lehtinen still wants to privatize Social Security. Check out this clip of Annette passionately protecting a secure retirement for our seniors, and Ileana being genuinely surprised that people actually like Social Security.
The "Miami Herald said: "Ros-Lehtinen stood behind her support of privatizing parts of Social Security – which Taddeo opposes – arguing that people should invest parts of their accounts to get higher returns."
Ros-Lehtinen really is out of touch.
The same articlesays that Annette "pounced on Ros-Lehtinen's votes against expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program, or S-CHIP."
It’s amazing to work for a woman you believe in. Annette will be a passionate, progressive voice in South Florida for years to come.
