Barry, Barry Obama, this is the voice of your conscience brother. What's got into you?
Sitting in California I watched a TV ad for Obama in which voters are told that Obama's tax plan will give them "three times as much" more than McCain's tax plan. This is the worst and basest kind of politicing possible.
There is one other tactic that appeals to the worst in people that Obama has embraced fully as well. That is, Obama said unambiguously in the last debagte that he will try "to kill" Osama Bin Ladin, no questions asked.
Obama is simply appealing to the mob's worst instincts.

Obama is talking to the lynch mob and to the mob that wants to have money put in their pocket. Both of these tactics are the very worst that can be used in politics and Obama is using both very effectively.
Now, I'm a radical leftist who is against the rich as much as anyone, and I believe that there should be a maximium wage/income as well as a minimum wage. But I don't believe people should get elected promising that they will put money into people's pockets. Promise to fix the system. Promise to make a fair and progressive tax scale. But don't couch it as "we will give you three times as much as the other guy."
But while trying to buy votes is distasteful to me, it is merely base. The worst obscenity of the Obama campaign is his atempt to appeal to the lynch mob mentality of 9/11. He is out-Guliani-ing even Rudy Guliani. I simply don't believe that a person should be elected by calling for the summary assasination of an "enemy." This goes so far beyond the pale of desent politics that I can not support the notion one iota. By trying to show that he is more blood thirsty for vengence than even McCain or Bush, Obama has made a campaign that will go down in history as among the slickest presentations of the crudest emotions ever.
I'm writing these thoughts in my diary because they are the thoughts I have. My conscience asks, is it worth winning by appealing to blood lust? When Obama wins, as I fully expect he will, this diary will be just a small reminder that Obama didn't get there honorably -- that he too used the worst type of politics possible. I'm saying to you the voter, just be real about who you are voting for, and take off the rose colored glasses if you think Obama is some new kind of politician. He's as old style as they come. You missed your chance to vote for the new kind of politician when you rejected Kucinich -- a man who would never call for the assassination of a criminal like bin Laden without a trial.
