I think many of us here at dailykos have been waiting for the Obama campaign to pull out the FDR/New Deal card. And today our wishes were granted when Obama unveiled his new economic rescue plan, while speaking at the Seagate Convention Center in downtown Toledo Obama showed some of his economic cards and a new theme of heightened populism he calls "a new era of responsibility". In addition to a major turn in the campaign thematics Obama enjoyed another bit of great news. The Toledo Blade (an admittedly Democratic leaning paper in a Democratic leaning town) made an endorsement that will make you jump out of your seat.
Like the choice 76 years ago, next month's election is one in which voters have the power to cast aside the failed, greed-driven principles of governance and economics that have led to the current downturn and return to an equilibrium in which hard work is again rewarded by a decent standard of living for the average American

That's a nice start, but the final paragraph is the one that made me happiest.
Historically, Ohio has had a critical role in presidential elections and appears poised once again to be a key in deciding who sits in the Oval Office for the next four years. This is an awesome responsibility, and one that cannot be taken lightly. For the future of Ohio and America, there is only one reasonable choice for president: Barack Obama.
