Palin is here in Scranton, speaking right now. I'm not there, but they are carrying it live on our local NBC station.
One man yelled Kill Him. She quoted Casey. She talked about Casey, quoting him for several minutes again and again. Casey must feel sick.
Forget Drill Baby Drill, she is yelling Mine Baby Mine in an area raped by coal mining and this mindless crowd is cheering.
I don't know of any live blogging, but the Scranton Times-Tribune is doing live updates:
I apologize for the non-compliance with the diary rules, but want to get people watching, I have to run out and canvass now. But maybe as the day goes on, take a look for this coverage as it comes up.
As of 1:25 p.m. according to the Scranton Times-Tribune, one man had already screamed "kill him!" Palin didn't come on until 2. Not sure what else has happened since:
Palin speaks in Scranton
1:25 p.m.
Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin.
Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama the crowd booed loudly.
One man screamed "kill him!"
Supporters have been noted shouting "kill him," "terrorist," "off with his head" and other equally incendiary terms about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. Others have directly suggested Mr. Obama is a Muslim, which he is not, or a traitor. Some comments even drew rebuke from Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
Other than the lone man, there were no other such outbursts.
UPDATE Just stopped back to check and there's an update - heading to HQ for data entry. The Times-Tribune has an updated story with photos Palin to Scranton: Drill Baby Drill, Mine Baby Mine
There were no incendiary outbursts from the crowd about Mr. Obama during Mrs. Palin's speech, as there have been during other recent McCain-Palin rallies.
However, someone did shout out, "Kill him!" during Republican congressional candidate Chris Hackett's remarks before Mrs. Palin took the stage.
The outburst came during a round of booing from the crowd after Mr. Hackett said Mr. Obama should come to Pennsylvania and learn what the state's values are.
