Today is the final presidential debate. Many are wondering what will happen. Is Obama's you-know-what in trouble? Will Obama continue to have an aura of calmness? Only tomorrow knows for sure.
So what can we do today? I say, let's celebrate our candidate! Let's make today a series of rolling tributes to "O the President," by posting our favorite videos and positive stories about who he is and why we love him. Let's share personal stories from the trail, moments of real connection with others, moments when we were making a difference in our country.
Let's make this day about what is RIGHT with our candidate. Let us revel in HOPE. Let us begin now...
Follow me below the fold for the kick off installment of
"Debate Day Celebration and Tribute to O" by various members of the beautiful community called Daily Kos
My first tribute choice is an oldie but a goodie - the Yes We Can video by will.i.am. I start with this one because this video was my introduction to Barack Obama, and by extension this community. It got me out campaigning, donating, blogging, etc. In short, it changed my life by introducing me to my beloved Barry. Still chokes me up!
Next up, what I think is the next natural heir to the will.i.am video. This one is done by a young hip hop musician, not a professional - although it's stunning in its creativity. This is the effect inspiration and hope has on supporters. This is how everyday people change things. I'd like to see this video hit a couple million views before November 4. It even lays out key policy positions!
Now this is just fun...Obama on Ellen! His dancing is not that great proving he's half white! (hehehe)
Here's one of my favorites. It's new. In The American Promise, Barack reminds us that WE have the power, that WE are the ones we've been waiting for and that WE really can make our government work for US! We The People have been discounted and forgotten long enough! It's about US!
And we can't forget to give the man high props for his fabulous choice of a wife. Michelle is AWESOME! What a fabulous First Lady she is going to be. This woman makes me proud to be an American...makes me proud of American politics, dare I say for the first time in my adult life!
Here we have a loving tribute from Obama to his mother after her passing. It is touching to hear his love. This is a man with a family history that provided him with a unique set of experiences shaping him into the PERFECT leader for our time. Someone who sees the world with many cultural references, not simply an American lens; someone who knows what it is like to grow up on limited resources, work and borrow your way through college, someone who has seen a loved one fight with insurance companies while dying; someone whose background is like millions of Americans. And someone who, through a life of bi-racial experience, just might be able to lead us into a more racially united nation.
And now a small tribute of my own to the many volunteers that worked the primaries and made it possible for us to be on the verge of victory in the general.
Here's Obama talking at the DNC last fall of 2007 making his case to Democratic Party leaders. Chill-bumps!
Here is Barack speaking yesterday to house parties everywhere, intelligently presenting the road forward for energy independence. Oh, how honored we are Senator that you never talk down to us, that you know we care about real issues, that you know what matters most to the future of our nation and indeed our world. Oh, how we are thrilled with your educated, insightful, and informed approach. Your calm demeanor is comforting to us. We are not intimidated by your brilliance, we are inspired by it and confident because of it.
Yes, we love it when you are calm and brilliant, but we also love it when you are fired up! Here's Obama at his best, uniting us for change. Uniting us for the good of the people. Uniting us for the future! Go Barack! You give me HOPE my daughter will grown up in an American that can live up to its promise. You make me believe not only in you as a leader, but in ME, in AMERICANS, in HOPE, in GOOD!
And I end with this one...Barack's victory speech in Denver before 80,000 plus jubilant people. Please close your eyes and see this speech on November 4th at 11:00 p.m. Eastern, see this same crowd on Inauguration Day in January. See this future for America. See this future for US.
YES WE CAN, AND WE WILL!

Now everybody get busy adding your own POSITIVE comments, videos, stories, etc. NO NEGATIVES PLEASE. This is a celebration of OUR GUY. We have so much good to talk about. I ask you to please leave the problems with others to the many other dairies on that subject!
Fired up and
