If you are like me, you've heard about enough of people saying "Let John be John" or "Let Sarah be Sarah." Politically, this is the dumbest load of crap I've heard -- the American public is deeply concerned about issues facing US, not the emotional state of the GOP candidates running for office. So while John McCain's brother, Dan Quayle, Bill Kristol and whoever else wants to advise the McCain-Palin Continuous Failure Tour about how to press reset with under 3 weeks to go, I have an idea.
(after the jump)
They can take their pathetic therapy sessions private, and the grown-ups, led by Barack & Joe, will get on with addressing the very real issues we're up against. Yes, I know they must all be really rattled right now - after all, Conservatism in practice has proven to be a complete failure (except that it accomplished what it set out to accomplish - to hoard private wealth and bankrupt the government to the point it can no longer function). But nevertheless we'll begin to fix all the wrongs the right has perpetrated upon us.
As an aside, I would like to share something with the community. I was a college student in 2000, and during the Presidential Primaries, I openly discussed the possibility of voting for McCain. At the time, in a very Barack-like post-partisan mindstate, I was convinced that even if my views were liberal and McCains were conservative, he would do more to repair the system of government to make it work better for future administrations, and therefore the American people. Boy would that have been a mistake. 2008 has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that McCain has eagerly sold out whatever good qualities he possessed, exploited his selfless service to the point of embarassment, and revealed the worst of himself. Thankfully we have a SUPERB candidate to work for and elect. And I'm very proud of the infrastructure that this community has helped build for future Democratic victories. Thanks.
