John McCain made it pretty clear what he thinks of regular folks - taking care of the middle class would provoke class warfare and women's lives mean bubkis.
Class warfare? Closing tax loopholes so that the wealthy pay their fair share will cause class warfare? The Rockefellers and Annenbergs are going to take up arms because they have to pay their taxes. Sure, John. He continues to be more concerned with the feelings of the rich rather than the plight of the middle and working classes.
And if that doesn't disturb you enough, McCain also made it perfectly clear that a woman's life is worthless. Stating that the health of the mother is a poor excuse for an abortion, John McCain just made it clear what he thinks of women. He's obviously never known a woman who has been told that she can continue with a pregnancy with an already dead fetus and lose the ability to ever get pregnant again. Or known a woman who has toxemia which can cause a woman to stroke, have kidney failure or a heart attack.
If John McCain thought he was going to bring in Clinton voters and independents with this debate, he's even more out touch than we thought. All he did was play to the most extreme in his base. He not only didn't admonish his supporters who have been yelling, "Kill him" concerning Obama, he applauded them and said he was proud of them. I guess to McCain, his base contains a mix of millionaires willing to revolt, misogynists, lynch-mobs and, he hopes, Joe the Plumber, who makes $250,000/year.
This debate told us a lot about John McCain, none of it good.
