There are just a few hours left on the eBay auction for the Obama Quilt I made. I'm posting one more reminder diary to catch anyone who hasn't had a chance to bid on the quilt. All proceeds will be donated to the Obama campaign, up to $2,200. Any overage, which looks a bit unlikely right now, will be donated to an Orange to Blue candidate.
Pics over the jump!
This quilt is 81"x112" and made from white & blue jeans and red pin-whale courderoy. It fits a double bed and is nicely heavy and warm! It is a "tied" quilt with ties at each intersection of the jean squares and in regular intervals within the logo, following the design lines.
I'm so pleased that bidding is going well on the quilt! I have been frustrated by my inability to contribute to the campaign by any means. (PTSD and phone-banking/canvassing don't mix well and we're barely scraping by financially) But as a historical costumer and a big believer in "She Who Dies With the Most Fabric, Wins", I have a well-stocked fabric room from the days when we were flush. Thus was born the idea to make something and auction it off to raise the monies to be able to donate. Obama has made many calls to service with the idea that each person gives according to their talents and resources. So I've been sewin'-for-Obama!
Thanks to everyone who has bid on the quilt to date and I appreciate all the supportive comments I've received! Yes We Can!
