In the Minneapolis metro area? This is supposed to be a BLUE state.
It's the most depressing thing to see. I drive all over the metro, to school and various other places, and I see on the lawn sign front, about 2-1 ratio of McCain/Palin to Obama. What gives?
The polls tell a different story, I know, so what is up with this? I want to get out of my car and go up and knock on these peoples' doors and rant at them "what are you, NUTS?" My sister tells me to calm down, in my neighborhood, she says "Rose - they're white and they're old". hahahaha. Well, maybe so, but that doesn't explain the proliferation of McCain/Palin signs I see in Brooklyn Park and Crystal. (although not as much, thank God.)
My sister has a trailer and lives in a trailer court. I asked her "why so many McCain/Palin signs HERE? (good lord, there's even a "Women for McCain" sign on one lot). She is of the opinion that a lot of the residents are sucking up to management, the owners of the court are very clearly McCain/Palin fans. (not knocking the trailer court dwellers, but you know they are not millionaires - so why aren't they voting for the guy that actually cares about them?)
It makes for a very ranty drive to school hahahaha. So this diary is a little call to action. It's very obvious that the GOP in this town is very organized, and encouraging this proliferation of lawn signs. Democrats, not so much maybe. So, if you can't afford to contribute to a campaign and can't volunteer, I encourage all Dems in the Minneapolis metro area to get your Obama/Franken/Dem rep of your choice lawn signs now. I know it's kind of late in the day, but do it. It's cheap/free, and a great way to show support. It's still not too late. Help save Rose from stroking out on her drive to school, and crashing the car with me and my sister in it hahahaha. The life you save is that of a fellow Democrat. :):):)
