With all respects and "warm & fuzzies" to Bill of C&J fame, I know he does the "rum and Coke" Friday edition; after this week & Gov. Demagogue being a mere 40 minutes north of my house today, I'm bringing THIS to the party tonight:
Let's Countdown; that ALWAYS makes me feel better! :D
Today's "This Day in History" once again features a variety of interesting events. On this date in 1931, Al Capone went to the big house for tax evasion. Cynical little 'ol me isn't getting my hopes up for GWB, DICK, Freddo, TurdBlossom, or a host of others serving any time for anything they've done over the past 8 years. The earthquake in San Francisco during the World Series that knocked out a chunk of the Bay Bridge happened on this date in 1989. I remember that day well because I was watching the game, and, when it went off the air, I joked that I bet an earthquake hit. Ugh... And, playwright Arthur Miller was born on this date in 1915. I saw The Crucible during my senior year in college at the same time I was writing my big a$$ paper for my required history class about Senator Joe McCarthy. The person I went to the play with thought my blood vessels were going to burst, so we went out drinking afterwards. And, this one's appearance on Hardball tonight basically calling for a new HUAC makes Mr. Miller's work all the more required viewing:
#5 "Obama Wants Special Prosecutor..." AKA "Obama Hits Back" AKA "DOJ Responds to Obama Request..." - I just love, love, LOVE the Obama campaign taking it to the GOP & their hatefulness & their smears! YAHOO! Huzzah for the U.S. Attorney firing investigation "expansion"! Do I dare hope that someone somewhere might actually be held ACCOUNTABLE for all this $hit? A.G. Mukasey’s just hearing it from everybody, isn’t he?! GOOD! Standing ovation for Robert Bauer! Ya’ think we’ll see him in a President Obama DOJ? I’d have to problem with that; get him & Jonathan Turley to clean that $hit up! How ‘bout that Ohio State Supreme Court?! Can this go to SCOTUS? Lord, I hope not.
#4 "The Late Show Express" AKA "Trail Mix" - HOW ‘BOUT THAT FORMER WEATHERMAN FROM INDIANAPOLIS WHO WAS BORN & RAISED JUST A FEW BLOCKS NORTH OF WHERE I LIVE?! Sorry to shout, but I’m damn excited & damn proud! Here's a pic of Dave from his days of reporting the weather.
99.9999% of "journalists" should turn in their creds & resign for not doing the job they should’ve been doing for MONTHS. Put another checkmark in another area where Senator McCentury has just f*ckin’ lost it; he’s the one who brought "Joe the Plumber" into the election narrative! I want to start a petition to get David Letterman the Pulitzer. Who’s f*ckin’ with me???!!! I think Dave wanted to *itch slap him a couple of times. Dave probably gave G. Gordon Liddy more press than he’s had in ages! And, how ‘bout that audience applause? Sometimes, us "Hoosiers" do good – every once in a great while! The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Senator Obama; I will $hit a brick if the Indianapolis Star does likewise. Dan Quayle’s family began the Indianapolis Star, and that paper has never ever EVER endorsed a Dem in a POTUS election. AND, they endorsed Senator Clinton in the Dem primary here back in May. A friend of mine who is a fellow practitioner at the Indianapolis Zen Center works at the Star. Do you know how damn difficult it’s been for me to not constantly pester her about this? She takes her responsibility as a journalist extremely seriously – damn professionalism. ;D
** People in Arizona are videotaping the theft of Obama yard signs. I’ve still got my yard sign after 2 days! There is no way in bloody hell I could’ve talked hubby into bungee jumping after our wedding. I’d have been all over that – weeeeeeee!!!! Yea for the Phillies getting to the World Series & handing the Dodgers their arses! That’s what you get for sweeping my Cubs. Oh, BTW, the Phillies were the rookie team for this guy; they traded him to the Cubs.
I can tell from personal experience that I die a little every time I hear the Bee Gees, so that study is full of $hit. DISCO SUCKS! **
#3 "Presidential Punch Line" AKA "Comic Relief" - Senator Obama was damn funny; McCentury had his moments, but I DID NOT APPRECIATE the digs at Keith. If anyone here is surprised by this admission, I’ve got some swampland to sell you with a bridge. And, WTF is Brian Williams doing clapping at that & laughing?! A$$! Uh, Keith, um, don’t give up your "day job," OK? That lighting just doesn’t do it for you.
WPITW – Bob Grant thinks Senator Obama is making his own flag. What a maroon! Gov. Demagogue’s Secret Service detail isn’t letting "her" work & play with others at her rallies. Senator Man – on – Dog better wear a flag on his birthday suit, or he’s a librul commie bitter elitist! Sorry to introduce THAT image. Here’s a better one.
#1 "Playing a Role" AKA "Saturday Night Thrive" AKA "Funny Prone" - If someone writes lines for Gov. Demagogue, will she be able to read them? Readin’s awfully elitist, ya’ know. You can’t be reading Catcher in the Rye & be packing heat to bag a moose or squirrel at the same time!
See? No book there!
Gov. Demagogue complained there "aren’t enough hours in the day" to reveal to people who you really are & what you’re made of. Who’s been shielding you from "the media"? Hey! I have an idea of how to fix that! Agree to be interviewed by Keith, Rachel, or David Letterman if you've got the balls, you hateful chicken$hit!
