Now is the time.
Here in Indiana, all local Democrats are having a very special event.
Even if you've never called or knocked doors before ... you can enjoy the fact that just a few minutes of effort can create many votes.
Here's how you can take credit for that (read on) ...
What we're doing this weekend, here in Indiana, is extremely special.
We're calling and knocking on the doors of Known Democrats.
We'll be working out of Obama and party offices - all over the state!
The idea is to turn them out for early voting. If we can convince them to vote early, then we know we have their vote ... and we will make the lines shorter on election day (thus maximizing turnout, which is great for Dem.s up and down the ticket!
Most of the effort will be run out of local Obama offices - for a list, please go to: http://www.barackobama.com/ and click on states
Talking to known democrats is much easier than talking to "persuadables" ... these folks are already on our side ... but we have to persuade them to vote early!
They'll be doing themselves a favor, they'll be doing their Co. officials a favor, and - most of all - doing the Democratic party a favor.
We are the party that stands up for working people. Democrats up and down the ticket believe in building this nation - as well as the State of Indiana from the bottom up, by focusing on the middle class.
Democrats up and down the ticket believe in restoring America's image abroad.
It's especially important to get out in the rural counties and work!
Let me close by saying that if you're are their neighbor (or even if you're not), you can get 2 votes for every 10 phone calls you make!
You can come in and work for 15 minutes ... and leave with the satisfaction of knowing that you got a bunch of extra votes for us!
What are ya doin' this weekend?
--Ye Olde Mad Canvassser (I'm going to Monticello tomorrow, Logansport on Sun. Are ya w/ me??)
P.S.: By order of the Indiana Secretary of State, all Indiana voter registration offices will be open next Saturday (25th), and also the Saturday the 1st. Check your local office for exact hours. But by all means ... get everyone you know, out to vote early
