Taxation
I have never bought the notion of Aspirational Taxation, a viewpoint put forward by conservatives, who argue people are disuaded from moving on in life, because the more they earn, the more they will be taxed.
Joe the unlicensed plumber put this nonsensical argument forward, but his argument, left me feeling, the same way as Jason Elam 48 yard field goal against my beloved Bears, stunned.
If people can actually say, hand on heart, that the majority of Americans stay in low paying jobs, busting a gut to work fifty hour weeks, so they can avoid a higher rate of taxation.
Joe might be concerned about the future, but if i was him, i would be more concerned that there is going to be a business in years to come. With any economic downturn, there is going to more foreclosures, less employment and a squeeze on the prices that plumbers can charge.
Haven't you also noticed, Joe seems to be fit, and under the age of 42. As a Republician and a Bush supporter, shouldn't he be in the military? I appreciate the life of a unlicensed plumber is glamorous, but is it really fair, that the Gay community take up the recruitment slack, or is Joe's surname Romney?
If a person, wants to be a computer programmer, an architect or engineer, the first thing they dont do, is ring up an accountant and ask what they are going to be paying to the Government in five years time.
As a registered Republican, Joe stands on the wrong side of the argument, because he belongs to a party which restricts access to education, and therefore hampers a person's social mobility.
The Gop have always found money for Star Wars military projects, and tax cuts for some on the world's wealthiest people, but struggle to find any dollars for education, higher education or training.
If Barack Obama was smart, he would guarantee, to every American, regardless of background, funding for training, to be a architect, engineer, doctor, or scientist, and promise not to saddle them with debt, once they have graduated.
One thing people did overlook, with the incident, of that racist who turned up at a McCain-Palin rally with a toy monkey, with an Obama sticker on it,was why he allowed into the event.
From my understanding, no one at this event, confiscated the monkey or turned this nut job away. Isn't it a fair question, that someone at the gathering had the guts to at least complain about the overtly racist object? Are you telling me, of all those people, who saw this guy, that include GOP officals, didnt say something?
Is it socially acceptable,to watch a guy that demeans not only a person, but a whole community?
