I voted today in Las Vegas! Although living here can be a bit nutty sometimes, Clark County does get its voting right.
There are two weeks full of varied early voting locations (today is the first day), located in grocery stores, health clubs, libraries, government centers, malls etc. To see the schedule, go to http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/...
I voted at a local Albertson's and everything went smoothly -
There was a line of about 30 people when we got there, but there were about 20 voting machines (touch screen with paper back up). From the time we got in line until when we left, I would say that about 20 minutes had passed. I did not have to show ID but did have to give my month and day of birth.
The lady at the door said that the line had been steadily long all day.
OK - so this is pretty boring. But I find it somehow soothing to know that there is somewhere that "gets it" - people want voting to be convenient, quick and verifiable.
And it looks like turnout will be HUGE in Las Vegas.
Let the voting begin! GO OBAMA!
