When I opened up FireFox at 5:30 pm EST and hit the 'news' button at the top of the Google Search homepage, guess what?
Not one mention of the record-breaking crowd of 100,000 people at Obama's rally in St Louis today!
This isn't an anomaly, either.
Time after time I have detected a pro-Republican bias on the Google News homepage.
It's just like the pro-Bush bias I used to see every morning on my msn homepage.
And yes I am paranoid, but that doesn't mean this isn't happening.
Here are the screen shots from the Google News homepage taken today at 5:30 pm EST:
The top three headlines:
As you can see, no mention of the rally.
There is something about Bush's global summit, then something about McCain, then something about Palin, And Finally someting about Obama -but not about the rally.
The next group of headlines down:
Nope. Still nothing on the rally.
The next group down - including the all-important "Elections" category on the right hand side:
Unbelievable. Still nada.
The next group of headlines and stories down:
Nada
And the last group on the Google News homepage at 5:30 pm EST:
Zero mention.
Of course, if you search for the news item, "obama, st louis" it forces Google News to show the stories, as seen here:
CBS News reporting the story, MSNBC reporting on the rally, FOX, NPR, etc etc.
NOTE: As I began to write this diary, it was 6:00 pm EST and still no mention of the 100,000 person Obama-rally on Google's News homepage:
And now I just checked at 7:00 pm EST and.....you guessed it, NADA:
Google News! You better straighten your act out! Don't make me get Obama on your ass!
