As we know, Election Day will bring long lines in many parts of the country. It goes without saying that EVERY VOTE will count. I want to offer a couple ideas on things we can do to help achieve our goals on that day. I hope you will add some of your thoughts as well and we better start getting these things organized now and not wait until the last minute.
First and foremost, there MUST BE people at the polls to witness and document any irregularities. Preferable they would be attorneys or people well versed in voting rules and regulations that can assist in making sure everyone's vote will be counted.
Secondly, in order to make the possible long lines more tolerable, maybe we can find volunteers to bring people water and snacks while they wait in line.
I have also talked to some local street musicians to bring acoustic guitars and such to provide a little entertainment to help pass the time. Perhaps you know some people in your area who would be willing to do this.
We have to remember that there can be no campaigning within a stated distance of the polls, so be careful to avoid that.
I hope we can add to these ideas and try to make sure everyone gets inside to make their vote count. We are going to need every one we can get.
