WARNING There is an autoplay comment, you can find it here
Yesterday Barack Obama was on FIRE in Fayetteville, NC. I watched it live, and I was wowed by it. I think he was really feeding off of the crowd, which was definitely fired up! So many people showed up they even had to have an overflow area outside set up with speakers so those people could hear too.
I think this speech was the hardest I've heard him go after McCain on certain issues, here's a video of him talking about McCain attacking him:
UPDATE Here's the text of the first vid:
Now, my opponent has made his choice. Senator McCain’s campaign actually said a couple of weeks ago that they were going to launch a series of attacks on my character because, they said, "if we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose." And that’s one promise John McCain has kept. He’s been on the attack.
Lately, he and Governor Palin have actually accused me of – get this – socialism. John McCain just repeated the charge again this morning. And you know why? Because I want to give a tax cut to the middle class – a tax cut to 95% of American workers. These are folks who work hard every single day and get payroll taxes taken out of their paycheck every single week. These are the teachers and janitors who work in our schools. They’re the cops and firefighters who keep us safe. They’re the waitresses who work double shifts, the cashiers at Wal-Mart, the plumbers fighting for the American Dream. John McCain thinks that giving these Americans a break is socialism. Well I call it opportunity, and there is nothing more American than that.

He also acknowledged Colin Powell's endorsement and "real" America:
Transcript:
Before we begin, I’d like to acknowledge some news we learned this morning. With so many brave men and women from Fayetteville serving in our military, this is a city and a state that knows something about great soldiers. And this morning, a great soldier, a great statesman, and a great American has endorsed our campaign to change America. I have been honored to have the benefit of his wisdom and counsel from time to time over the last few years, but today, I am beyond honored and deeply humbled to have the support of Gen. Colin Powell.
Gen. Powell has defended this nation bravely, and he has embodied our highest ideals through his long and distinguished public service. He and his wife Alma have inspired millions of young people to serve their communities and their country through their tireless commitment and trailblazing American story. And he knows, as we do, that this is a moment where we all need to come together as one nation — young and old, rich and poor, black and white, Republican and Democrat.
Later today he'll be in Florida with Hillary, and Gov. Richardson may be there too! (I'm almost tempted to skip my class to watch it ~lol~) Of course, I'll have pics for everyone of that event, I'm sure they'll be great.
Speaking of pictures, here are the pics from Fayetteville as promised yesterday:
Tips, recs, and comments are welcome as always!
Don't forget to DONATE or VOLUNTEER. If you need inspiration, here's Obama phonebanking in Kansas City on Saturday:
If he can take time out of HIS busy schedule, surely we all can take a bit of time out to do the same. We still have a "lifetime" until this election, so let's GOTV!!!!!
UPDATE #1: This is hilarious! h/t GreenMtnState
UPDATE #2: I was thinking about maybe from now until the election doing a series of positive diaries and call them "Hope Diaries" and use it as a place to leave inspirational tidbits I find around the web. What do you guys think? I'm sure we are all going to be really anxious for the next couple of weeks, and I know I like to focus on the positive.
Also, for the people who can't watch the videos, I added short descriptions, sorry I don't have any transcripts.
UPDATE #3: If you don't want to work hard for Barack, or for yourself, work hard for her:

Preview h/t Kitty:
"It's getting so bad that even Senator McCain's running mate denounced his tactics last night. As you know, you really have to work hard to violate Governor Palin's standards on negative campaigning."
"But we're not going to be distracted. We're not going to be diverted. Not this time. Not this year. Our challenges are too great for a politics that's so small."
