I remember when my grandmother was ill and then blessedly passed away. While we worried and then mourned the strength and courage of a fine Norwegian immigrant, we were surrounded by the love of those she had touched, either in person or by those she had nurtured and molded.
People from church, friends from work, and neighbors of all of her offspring were there to lend support. From bringing food to feed the host of family that had assembled, feeding the throngs who attended to Grandma's last days and eventual funeral, covering the office to offering services from babysitting to mowing the lawn. Good people were there to help as we coped with her illness and then mourned our loss.
And it was like this anytime there were those moments in life where family supreceded anything else that was happening at that time.
People were there to help...and many times I didn't even know their names. They just knew that when someone needed help, or was hurting, that good people pulled together in support.
Let's do the same for Barack and his family while he attends to his family and what is truley important.
Think right now what you can do to help a friend at a difficult time when tending to family is more important than anything else.
For me, I'm going to canvass my neighborhood, send an email to my friends encouraging them to vote, donate another $50 and say a prayer for Barak, Michelle, their daughters and especially his grandmother...thanking God for the influence she has had on his life!
What can you do to help?
