Who says the media doesn't have a sense of humor?
I just happened to walk into the breakroom at work where it was on Fox News. I promptly changed it to MSNBC since I like watching people take each other's head off first thing in the morning.
The cut away shot between commercials was the huge image of Brian Williams' forthcoming interview with Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin tonight. The music playing in the background was "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve. I still see Sarah Michelle Gellar look of incredulity at being caught in her machinations with that song playing.
The polls all appear to be moving again and in a way that isn't favorable to the McCain campaign.
There is little hope that Texas will go Democratic this time, but I can say that there is no excitement for the Republican ticket here. I do work with educated Republicans and their excitement over Palin was collapsed.
I was laughing so hard at that one song and the iamge of McCain/Palin in the background.
Here are the lyrics to that song:
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
Trying to make ends meet
You're a slave to money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places
where all the veins meet yeah
No change, I can't change
I can't change, I can't change
But I'm here in my mind
I am here in my mind
But I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no, no, no,no,no,no,no,no(fading away)
Well I never pray
But tonight I'm on my knees yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airways are clean and there's nobody singing to me now
No change, I can't change
I can't change, I can't change
But I'm here in my mind
I am here in my mind
And I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
I can't change
I can't change it
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
Trying to make ends meet
Trying to find some money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places
where all the veins meet yeah
You know I can't change, I can't change
I can't change, I can't change
But I'm here in my mind
I am here in my mind
And I'm a million different people
from one day to the next
I can't change my mind
No, no, no, no, no
I can't change my mind
no, no, no, no, no,
I can't change
Can't change my body,
no, no, no
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
Been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
That you've ever been down
That you've ever been down
Somehow the songs says it all about the republican campign this year. They are going down teh only road they've been down and its failing.
I want to wake up in two weeks and cry tears of joy that eight undeserved years of Republican rule is coming to and end.
