Actually not breaking, as NBC announced it on the 18th. But I haven't seen it posted here. Here's Jonathan Martin with the news today:

This is being touted as an exclusive interview with Tom Brokaw; I guess he has found one last way to throw his buddy a life preserver.
It will be his 53rd appearace on the long-running program, second only to Bob Dole's 63.
Why should we care? Answer below the fold:
Look folks, the McCain money is drying up. While Obama will be spending lots of our cash (the money us little folks have ponied in) to get on TV on the 29th, McCain is getting free advertising from NBC. Or do you think that Tommie Brokaw is going to ask McCain some tough questions? I'm guessing it will be more along the lines of an infomercial. So, for all of us who can still afford it, it's time to pony up again.
Or, if you're like me, and you don't have any more money to give, give some time.
Or if you're really like me, and time and money are not possible right now, just keep plugging on your friends and relatives. My blood family is now at 4-0-1 for Obama, with that total including two 50+ year Republicans. And I just moved two more McCain supporters into the undecided column. If they stay there, that's two less votes for McCain. But they may keep moving.
So, Senator Obama is right. Let's not get complacent. John McCain still has plenty of high-placed media friends willing to pull his oars. Stay focussed, busy, and passionate. Throw him an anchor.
