I was listening to CNN in my car last night when I heard this brief exchange on the Lou Dobbs show:
GAMBLING: Well, good. I'm glad to hear that, at least because I think Barack Obama is not putting an end to the American dream. He has some ideas that I completely and totally disagree with when it comes to economically. When he wants to raise taxes on anybody considering our financial institutions and where we are today it makes no sense to me whatsoever on any level. He's not the devil that Dan is trying to paint him to be.
DOBBS: Maybe he is the devil. We're not going to rule that out yet.

Now what I was doing listening to Lou Dobbs in the first place, I don't know. Secondly, he probably would certainly argue that he didn't mean it literally and he meant in reference to the particular issue under discussion. And I don't think he literally thinks Obama is the Devil, but he just puts it out there, la-de-da and to my ears it sounded bad.
But Lou Dobbs is an "independent voice". R-i-i-i-ight, about as independent as McCain is Maverick. His right wing blathering about immigration are becoming the stuff of legend. He confuses being critical of both parties as being independent minded thinking. And the truth is he is in the tank for McCain. He pushes the Ayers connection, he pushes ACORN. He loves the McCian talking points.
And not to mention the self-aggrandizing emails he loves to read on the air.
We all know Dobbs is a hateful non-independent windbag who in fact may be more dangerous than obvious windbag Rush Limbaugh, because of his facade of "independence". So when he comes out and won't rule out Obama as the (figurative) devil, it matters. It's small but it counts and it matters.
I have no video, I am not sure any is available.
