Anyone ever here the old adage "you get what you pay for"?
Well surprise, surprise, the McCain campaign is probably learning the meaning of that one right now....
The McCain Campaign's highest paid employee in October was Sarah Palin's makeup stylist.
Seeing what a drag the "Palin Wardrobe" story has been on the McCain/Palin ticket, I can't help but to think that this latest story will be soaring in the media for the next few days. And boy is it a doozy. McCain is no doubt grumping at Palin again....
Guess who got paid the most of all McCain Campaign employees?
Top foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann?
Nope.
Nicolle Wallace, his senior communications staff member?
Huh uh.
Accoring to Federal Election Commission filings from the first 2 weeks of October reported in the NY Times, it was Amy Strozzi, Sarah Palin’s traveling makeup artist.
Ms. Strozzi, who was nominated for an Emmy award for her makeup work on the television show "So You Think You Can Dance?", was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October alone, according to the records. The campaign categorized Ms. Strozzi’s payment as "PERSONNEL SVC/EQUIPMENT."
The payment on Oct. 10 made Ms. Strozzi the single highest-paid individual in the campaign for that two-week period. (There were more than two dozen companies that got larger payments than Ms. Strozzi). She easily beat out Mr. Scheunemann, who received $12,500 in the first half of October, and Ms. Wallace, who got $12,000.
Is it any surprise that, as reported in Politico, McCain's campaign team is forming circular firing squads? If there are any "serious people" still associated with the campaign, they cannot possibly think this was a good idea.
