I’ve read some conspiracy folks in the past that say Obama has to have > 5% margin in states with DRE voting machine to win those states. That’s too vague considering ~30 states use DRE.
Come with me to take a brief look at how DRE win the election for McCain.
There are about 30 states using DRE. Any wacko prediction could find validity with that broad of a map. I’d narrow this down to the 18 states using DRE without 100% paper trails. I’ll also add a standard 3% MOE, so Obama needs an 8% "bubble" to win these states.
State polls via realclearpolitics.com:
DRE States
State Margin O/M
AR 12.0% M
CO 05.4% O
DE 17.6% O
FL 02.2% O
GA 05.2% M
IN 0.50% O
KS 12.0% M
KY 12.4% M
LA 15.6% M
MD 23.0% O
MS 10.3% M
NJ 15.8% O
PA 11.0% O
SC 15.0% M
TN 13.3% M
TX 13.6% M
VA 07.0% O
CO, FL (t), IN (t), and VA are all within the 8% bubble (t=tossup). That’s a total of 60 EVs that could be conspiratorially altered come 11/4.
RCP has the EV count at 306 O, 157 M.
- Switch FL & IN to M = 195
- Switch CO & VA to M = 217
- Give the other tossup states to M = 254
Ohio requires paper trails but uses DRE. Ohio is also the front line for voting fraud conspiracy with DREs, specifically with DIEBOLD/Premier machines. Right now O has a 6.6% margin, but that’s within the 8% bubble needed.
- Switch OH to M = 274
--> the bubble bursts and McCain is our next President.
Ha! Aren’t conspiracies fun!
