It is now 11 days to the [R]eckoning. About 2 days ago you, Senator McCain, started to get religion, and I do really mean this in as mean spirited a way as you have conducted your campaign in the final days of this election. I do still believe in what I was taught about deathbed conversions—that if at the end of your life, you are able to look at your life honestly in terms of what you have accomplished, where you have failed, and what you leave undone, there is hope. Must be all that Jesuit training. But John, this is really too much.
You told Curl and Dinan, two reporters for the Washington Times, a great venue for confessions, that you disapproved of the mountain of debt that the Bush crowd, and you are including yourself I presume, will leave in its wake. You "blasted" them for not paying for Medicare expansion and the drug benefit. You even chided Cheney for pushing the envelope when it comes to power of the vice-presidency (please leave Sarah a note on what the Constitution lays out regarding the office for her cramming). You deplore the US’s 500 billion debt to China, part of the 10 trillion that future generations now owe. You shake your head about the antiquated financial regulatory agencies which have proved woefully inadequate in the face of their recent crash. You take everyone to task for not taking climate warming seriously.
Now really, John. You expect me to believe you, speaking up with all of 11 days to go? Where were you for the last nearly 8 years? Oh I forgot, doing something so important that you missed 10 of the 12 important votes about the war in Iraq, small things like providing adequate body armor for our troops and funding medical care for them if, God forbid, they return injured.
Throw in a few pleas to buy up home mortgages with the 700 billion you rushed back to Washington to authorize, and I say it looks to me like you’re just saying stuff to save your ass.
I was wondering if any words can really express how bogus you are when Jojo’s lyric came to mind:
You say the words but boy it don't feel right
...
It's just too little too late
A little too wrong
And I can't wait
But you know all the right things to say (You know it's just too little too late)
You say you dream of my face
But you don't like me
You just like the chase
To be real
It doesn't matter anyway (You know it's just too little too late)
Hey Jojo, (Joanna Noelle Levesque), thanks. Just about says it all.
