Apologies for a short diary, but I just want to point out something about John McCain's speech in Denver today. I've just looked over a transcript of his remarks, and as far as I can tell, the only time he mentions Barack Obama is to attack him. In other words, not a single reference to Obama's ailing grandmother. Not a single condolence. No sympathies. Not a good thought. Not a prayer. Nothing. If I'm missing it, or if he's expressed some compassion in another speech somewhere, can someone please show it to me? Then I can go back to thinking of John McCain as simply a lousy politician with bad policies and questionable ethics. As it is now, I can't help but conclude he's an absolutely horrible human being who lacks even a shred of decency.
