The Owner of the Blues learns that Palin is a jinx to NHL teams that want her to drop the first puck.
Remember when the owner of the Philadelphia Flyers thought it was a good idea to bring out America's Hockey Mom onto the ice to drop the first puck? She was brutally booed by the City of Love. The Flyers lost the game and went six games without a win.
Did the owner of the St. Louis Blues expect better when he invited Sarah Palin onto the ice? What did he think would happen when he had her brought out to drop that first puck? Was she going to swing the state? Or continue her NHL jinx? This time her antics brought more than a loss on the scoreboard:

ST. LOUIS -- Blues goalie Manny Legace left after one period Friday night with a hip injury that occurred when he slipped on the carpet placed on the ice for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The Alaska governor dropped the ceremonial first puck before the Blues hosted the Los Angeles Kings. A narrow carpet walkway was placed from the gate at the Blues bench to center ice for Palin, her husband and two of her daughters.
Just before the ceremony, Legace was the first player onto the ice for St. Louis. A team official pointed to the carpet. But Legace said the official moved his own foot from the carpet just as Legace stepped down, causing the carpet to slide.
That's right. The hockey mom's big visit led to a player getting taken out like a visit from the Hansen Brothers. Blues fans must feel really good knowing that if their owner hadn't made a big production out of dropping the first puck, they'd had their starting goalie for the entire match and might not have lost 4-0 to a team from the FAKE AMERICA - the Los Angeles Kings.
Palin is bad for hockey.
