The coast-to-coast "Our Country Deserves Better" bus tour sponsored by right-wing California millionaires has reached Michigan, which McCain/Palin have given up on.
But, according to one of the bus tour's principals, unemployed talk-show host Mark Williams, the crowds "are getting bigger and louder, and the 'Obamamites' nastier."
Williams claims that the Brighton, MI, "rally" was "wildly successful," though the photos on his pathetic, nobody-commenting blog show only a few dozen people turning out for C-list winguts.
Sure, this is just one little corner of Wingnuttia, but it's remarkable for its viciousness, and its inability to attract a decent crowd, despite the presumed support of local wingnut radio all along the way.
More good news about wingnut FAIL, below.
I'm following this because Williams is one of the worst wingnut-radio Limbaugh-wannabes.
As with his his previous job at KFBK in Sacramento, Williams was fired from his only full-time job last month, doing afternoon drive at WROW-AM in Albany, NY.
His ratings sucked, and his penchant for calling everyone who disagrees with him a Nazi did not help.
Williams got all woe-is-me in his farewell blog post, saying that he and his wife (who's in real estate in Sacramento, good luck with that) "are facing the prospect of having to short sell our home or lose it to the bank because the property value has plummeted along with our income."
Boo, hoo.
But then he got the bus gig, which will keep the wolf from the door for a few weeks.
Most newspapers haven't bothered to cover an "event" that 20 or 30 locals show up for.
But the smaller the town, the more likely the coverage of a non-event.
The wingnuts got a story in the Iron Mountain Daily News, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
The story is a press release plus quote; here's what Williams had to say:
Obama and the liberal media are telling us that Michigan is solidly for Obama. They're trying to influence us to stay away from the polls, that our votes don't count.
John McCain is asking for one more chance to serve his country. And Sarah Palin is the next generation of leaders that we need in Washington.
The story ends with this:
After the rally, the audience members were invited to submit their resumes to the committee in order to prove that there are plenty of Americans with more executive experience and responsibility than Obama.
If the national media were paying attention to this, they'd check out Williams' blog, and find an extraordinary level of hate and Nazi-baiting.
Here's a taste, just from headlines on Williams' blog over the past few weeks:
Storm Troopers! Obama’s Enemies List, Government computers used to invade Joe the Plumer’s privacy
Obama; no regrets over saying that he will rob American Joe-the-workers to give to fatso-the-parasites
That "get out the vote" telephone call you got from Obama may have come from a terrorist in Gaza
Dirty, smelly, hippies try to block Palin motorcade in Colorado
The flea-bitten, hippie crowd have their roach clips all in a knot over the Our Country Deserves Better Stop Obama Tour
"Never Again!" ?? Jessie "Hymietown" Jackson warmin’ up the ovens, vows Obama will bode ill wind for Jews
Working hard to elect Obama as president Islamic Terrorists in Gaza form "Gazans for Obama" and man phone bank to call USA voters and drum up support for Obama (Obama = Holocaust Part II)
Obama represents a clear and present danger, is bathed in the blood of our own troops
Is Barack Obama a cult leader and his supporters cultists? Watch this video, if you are old enough to remember the Hitler Youth this will send a chill down your spine
Trust me, what Williams writes under these headlines is as bad or worse.
This year, voters, outside the Bushite remnant, are not paying any attention to the extreme, fear-mongering rhetoric of the right-wing media.
But we here should pay some attention to what they're saying, because they will be devoted to destroying President Obama with vile lies and Nazi-slurs like these.
P.S. Williams does link to Daily Kos on his blog, under the headline "Domestic Enemies and other Moon Bats."
