Barack Obama.
At last. You should know that Dr. Hunter S. Thompson once described this third shore as a place where, "The Germans hired the Pollacks years ago to do all the work and moved to the suburbs...."
Regretfully, Hunter, that's pretty much the reality yet I've too much carpal tunnel pending to get all slick and fancy (I'm not going to Google this) as you're GONE; the who, what, where whyoowhy of it departs from our focus. And the fear.
I trust God rests your soul.
Usually the MJS panders rather center-fency in order to sell out-State and in nearby(in particular western)and other hard-right areas. Struggling as they have with the cost of trees. The price of rice.
And maybe for a decade now the MJS has taken to all these liberal/neocon
artsy/fartsy Hatfield/McCoy formats and 'balance' as though the dear reader can't. A surviving daily that does a pretty good job of it. However as a non-subscriber I must say that these few hours before the Presidential Election (4 November 2008) is rather a 'tell' on your chickeness/(and) courage. Elsewhere you'll be able to see many other even hindquarter conservative newspapers like the Chicago Tribune that have taken point on the ENDORSMENT.
Kudos kudos, though. Your thin four-pager this Sunday is beautiful, thoughtful, and real. That's what I call an ENDORSEMENT. I don't know if it'll alter anyone's politics, but it is so damn good. We're up X 17,now.
Non-badgers may be interested to know more about this this gem-in-the-rustbelt kind of town, to appreciate the steadfastity of your empahtic Presidential pick. Gone are the breweries, the hometown airline, the magic carpet steelmakers, the bank headquaters, and on and on like so many now countless corporations, industries just plainly out of sight. Nice work, MJS! Milwaukee is the kind of place where fiercely patriotic kids seldom question when Uncle Sam calls, and your Fourth of Julys on the lakefront are next to none. Some of us even saw President John F. Kennedy's parade that day on Howell Ave. And Father Groppi; have we forgotten Father Groppi? Personally, I experienced mock 'nuclear war' drills as a grade-schooler. I still remember --- that if Chicago is ground zero --- we'll be molten glass even this far north. This is a great day for Milwaukee. We thank you. I'm framing the ENDORESMENT to display over the bar. PAX!
