As the McCain campaign enters its final throes, we Democrats and supporters of Barack Obama should be ready for the final strategy which will most likely be one of Fear Uncertainty and Doubt.
Fear: It will start with National Security, the area that McCain feels is his own particular area of strength, never mind that he has never been in a foreign policy or military decision making position in his life. This goes along with of his claims that he knows war,he know how to win wars, he knows how to catch Bin Laden, but has never actually been instrumental in FORGING ANY SIGNIFICANT FOREIGN POLICY DECISIONS.(Except in 2001 when he was supporting George Bush and the rush to war and he told Jay Leno that the anthrax probably came from Iraq and stated on "Hardball" that it was not only Afghanistan who we should go after but probably also, Iraq, Iran, North Korea and even Libya). We have seen the beginning of the strategy with the comments that voting for Obama will mean that the country for sure will have to endure an "international incident" (to quote that paragon of innuendo and lies, Sarah Palin)but you won't have to worry about it with John McCain. Also, the mailer in Pennsylvania that aims to sow fear of a new "holocaust" for Jews who stray and vote for Obama. Fear, a powerful motivator...and it worked for Bush in 2004
Uncertainty: According to Sarah Palin, we are headed for a time where "what you thought was yours would really start belonging to somebody else" if we elect Barack Obama. McCain brings up his question at every rally" Who is Barack Obama?" obviously designed to provoke uncertainty among independents and republicans. He states Sen. Obama 'wants to raise taxes and restrict trade".
Doubt: Here is Sen. McCain; " I know you are worried. Will the world be safer or more dangerous?" Even Gov. Ridge has joined the charade offering in one of his robocalls that" Sen. Obama would "sit down with terrorists".
This is the time when all the forces of the GOP and the McCain campaign will be working overtime to question Senator Obama's experience, and strength in security issues. This is the timie when we need to work as hard to spread the word that Senator Obama is the real leader, who has the temperament, wisdom and judgement to make the right choice for our country. We must spread the word, be steadfast, GOTV, spread the Cheer and VOTE!
