It is very, very important that you do NOT vote on Election Day.
Vote BEFORE Election Day.
Vote THIS WEEK.
I know, I've heard a lot of you say over the past few weeks that you enjoy the pomp, the ceremony, the atmosphere of Election Day, and that you want to participate in this. I completely understand, and am tempted to wait as well.
But remember that lines are going to be extremely long on Election Day. There are a lot of first-time voters who are going to be coming to the polls, and first-time voters are the most likely to come in, see a long line, and turn right around again, or leave after a thirty-minute wait.
Consider this possibility: What if your standing in line on Election Day keeps another Obama voter from casting his or her ballot? Won't you feel like a real heel?
There is NO downside to voting early, and the upside of shortening the line on Election Day and making it much more likely that more Obama voters get to the polls is too good to pass up.
So please, if you live in one of the majority of states with early voting, do it this week. Don't wait until Election Day to vote. Make it more possible for your fellow citizens to make their own voice heard.
