For the first time in his political career, Adam Putnam has a fight on his hands. The residents of FL-12 have embraced my candidacy, and with your help, we can pull off the biggest upset of the entire election.
My name is Doug Tudor, and I am asking for your help. A friend of our campaign who posts diaries under the handle "hungrycoyote" has shown me the power of the blogosphere, and, together, we can finally prove our overall worth to the Democratic Party.
Read on to see how you can help by making one phone call.
My name is Doug Tudor, and I am asking for your help.
On Friday, February 29, 2008, I retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer, the Navy's senior enlisted rank. The following Monday I began my congressional campaign to unseat Adam Putnam. In other words, I left the most secure job in the world and am foregoing employment now, so that I could take on the third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House.
I felt that I had to take this principled stand because even as I was serving in uniform, I saw our country's elected, civilian leadership running our country over a cliff. Plain and simple, I couldn't stay silent any longer.
Because I am a working man; because I don't have hundreds of thousands to drop into my own campaign; because Adam Putnam is considered unbeatable -- the national Democratic party has never considered me a viable candidate. They are wrong.
Because of his 98.7% pro-Bush voting record; because of his many votes against working families; because of his high visibility during the much-hated bailout -- Adam is vulnerable.
In the past 24 hours, Kossacks have contributed nearly $3,000 to our grassroots campaign. This amount will allow me to purchase valuable space in the most-read newspaper in the district on the Sunday before election.
If you are able, Please Contribute to Our Campaign Any amount is greatly appreciated. Every dollar puts us closer to victory.
Here is the true call to action, though. Please call or write Brett Wask at the DCCC to politely ask him to get the DCCC involved in our campaign. His phone number is (202)607-1595, and his email address is wask@dccc.org. All you need to say is: "Brett, I am calling you from (city and state). Please support Doug Tudor in FL-12. He can beat Adam Putnam with your help." You don’t need to try to make my case or anything else. We just want Brett to get as many calls as possibile saying the same thing.
The DCCC has about a $40M advantage over their Republican counterpart. With a stroke of a pen, Brett could contribute 1/4 of 1 percent to our campaign -- $100,000 -- and we will win. In all honesty, if we had another 25,000 we would be assured victory. It really is that simple.
Please pick up your phone right now and call Brett Wask. If you get a recording, then just say "Brett, I am calling you from (city and state). Please support Doug Tudor in FL-12. He can beat Adam Putnam with your help."
We know Washington has ignored us for too long. We can ensure our party doesn't ignore us any longer. Please call or write Brett Wask, and let him know that you will not be ignored any longer.
I appreciate the enthusiastic support you have shown our campaign. I know you are being pulled in many different directions in this final week of the campaign. Please take this small step with me.
Please call or email Brett Wask at DCCC. His phone number is (202)607-1595, and his email address is wask@dccc.org.
I thank you; I appreciate you; and I am depending on you!
Your brother, Doug Tudor
Staying Respectful, I apparently gave out Brett's cell phone number. His office number is (202) 863-1500. Please call his office instead of his cell. Thank you, and please keep pressing the fight!
