Sarah Palin is talking about her "favorite thrift store" in Anchorage, nonstop. The store is called "Out of the Closet." Aside from the fact that Gov. Palin has no sense of irony, and apparently no understanding of what "Out of the Closet" means, what she has done is draw attention to the store's violation of the trademarked name "Out of the Closet."
AIDS Healthcare Foundation to Confront store over trademark violation
If you live on the West coast, you're very familiar with the "Out of the Closet" thrift stores. They offer great deals, free HIV testing, and the proceeds go to AIDS research.
Gov. Palin's "Out of the Closet" is in no way affiliated with the "Out of the Closet" chain, and now they are facing a suit over the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Registered Federal Trademark of the name "Out of the Closet."
From the release, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation is asking Palin and the GOP to donate her $150,000 wardrobe to their Out of the Closet stores, following the election:
