Those of you who don't know Sen. Cornyn or have never seen the man speak don't understand how important it is that he be defeated.
South Texas has needed to improve it's levees for decades and yet no federal money has been handed down, Cornyn after all is one of those "conservatives".
The August flooding in the Rio Grande Valley only illustrated what many believed earlier: the Levees were barely standing and the 1 million residents lack the infrastructure that basic states have. Some parts of the Rio Grande Valley, called "colonias", resemble third world countries as they have dirt Roads and scarce access to electricity.
Cornyn's slow, almost ineffectual manner has been compounded several times as he ignored for years the needs of South Texans. Finally, after FEMA threatened to declare the levees in the Valley unfit: Cornyn went South to campaign.
Republican Sen. Cornyn's visit to the South Texas Valley had one obvious moment. Speaking to Judge Cascos of Cameron County, Cornyn just didn't care and wasn't listening.
