Over this week we're going to be laying the fundraising stuff hard, and while we're looking to raise money for all the great candidates on our list, we're going to focus on a couple of ambitious projects.
We started over the weekend with raising $100,000 for Darcy Burner, to help close a $350,000 shortfall versus the Republican machine opposing her. We broke that goal just a short while ago.
So we're adding two new goals, which you'll be hearing more about in the next couple of hours: 1) $70,000 for Gary Trauner to fund an ad campaign in the Salt Lake City media market, hitting southwestern Wyoming, and 2) $40,000 for Bob Lord to go toward a $100,000 effort to saturate the airwaves the last few days of the campaign.
These are tangible goals for last-minute efforts to close the deal and win some key races. And these two districts have an added bit of symbolism:
WY-AL is the district once held by Dick Cheney, while AZ-03 is the district once held by John McCain.
To meet the goals, we have to get Lord to $100,000 and Trauner to $120,000.
Let's do it!
