Apologies for a short diary...
From this article (emphasis added):
U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof and former Missouri Rep. Jack Jackson pumped the crowd up earlier in anticipation of the start of the Republican rally.
Hulshof, the Republican candidate for governor, was the first to take the stage, whipping the crowd's enthusiasm up before introducing Jackson. After Jackson spoke about U.S. Sen. John McCain's character, the colors were presented and the Pledge of Allegiance recited. Hulshof said after the pledge, "We don't have to worry about the words 'under God' being taken out of the pledge with this group, do we?"
UPDATE: Apparently this slimeball is running for Governor of Missouri. Here's the website for his Democratic opponent, Jay Nixon. Donate, Baby, Donate!
I hate to say it, but for a second let's forget that "Under God" was only added in 1954, or that it probably should be removed because it violates the separation of Church and State...
This is a whopper of a vicious insult - a double-stack of implication, if you will. "He's not a Christian!" & "He's anti-American!" all rolled into one.
I'm giving up on the saying "Every day I'm amazed at how much lower these people keep digging." These people are not digging anymore - they're just falling all over themselves down an endless pit.
Despicable.
Again, here's the website for this slime's Democratic opponent, Jay Nixon. Donate, Baby, Donate!
[Update #2]: Thanks to gchauser2 for pointing this out in the comments (emphasis added):

Country First, indeed, Senator.
