I am not making this up. I wish I were that great a story teller! Here is what she said today in Pennsylvania:
In times of economic worry and hardship, the crisis that we’re in right now, sometimes it’s tempting to put those concerns aside on Election Day, national security issue, but we don’t have that luxury," Ms. Palin said, adding that Senator Barack Obama intends to "soften the focus" in the closing days before the election.
First of all, I think Governor Palin needs some new speech writers, or she needs to stick to the script she is given because her sentences are very poorly constructed. I mean seriously, I can barely follow what she is saying. Anyhow, the McCain campaign does not want to talk about the economy; that's crystal clear. Now they want to focus soley on national security. That's cool and all. But personally I don't think we can separate the two. Our weakened economy has everything to do with our national security. How can we flex our muscles and say that we are the strongest nation in the world when our citizens are struggling to pay for gas, groceries, and etc? Osama bin Laden is sitting in his cave laughing with joy at the tradegy going on in our country because he knows that we are even weaker today than we were when he orchestrated the worst attack on American soil.
Oh and speaking of bin Laden here's what Governor Palin had to say about him and John McCain:
He’s hoping your mind won’t wander to the real challenges – national security – challenges that he is incapable of meeting. But in a time of choosing, we have to decide which man has proven that he can protect us from Osama bin Laden and from Al Qaeda."
Really? He's proven that? I must have missed that great moment in American history because the last time that I checked bin Laden and Al-Qaeda are still out there, and still wreaking havoc on our troops in Afghanistan. Maybe President Karazi told her this little anecdote after the press had their 30 seconds to film them together. Or may be Zardari whispered this in her ear after he told her how hot she was. Hmm. I guess I'll never know.
So in the final week of the campaign the Obama-Biden ticket is talking to people about the serious problems that we are facing as a nation and telling people how they will try to solve these problems. On the other side the Palin-McCain ticket is trying to convince people to vote against their own interests out of fear.. I hope this country does the right thing on Tuesday...
