When John McCain was doing his chicken with his head cut off, suspending his campaign, to run to Washington to save the nation. Barack was doing the right things. My wife and I argued a lot about this issue, she kept telling me that Obama was to scared and afraid to voice an opinion.
I countered that he was talking to Warren Buffet, Hank Paulson, Ben Bernanke, and people like Hillary, and Senator Durbin and Ted Kennedy, on how best to handle the crisis, not to just make erratic decisions ala McCain. She never beleived me, and thought I was just making it up.
But on Wednesday night in Orlando, after watching President Clinton, Jimmy Smits and Barack Obama standing back stage talking as Senator Bill Nelson warmed up the crowd and introduced President Clinton. (I would have given anything to be a fly on the wall to hear that conversation) my wife wanted to hear President Clinton speak, she had a change of heart about him, when we met him in person on December 17, 2007 see the picture scroll to the bottom of the blog one of my favorite days.
When President Clinton then spilled the beans about how Barack kept his cool during the financial crisis and called the financial guru's for advice, and even Bill for advice and how what he wanted to do was what was the "right thing for America" and not the popular thing.
My wife turned to me and said how did you know that weeks ago, I told her it's because I have been watching Senator Obama since he went to Capitol Hill, he is always digging into facts before he speaks, he never shoots from the hip, he asks penetrating questions, he seeks options and the pros and cons, he is unlike any politician we have seen in our lifetime, and he is our future, he is the future for our kids and our grandkids.
Needless to say my wife will now be voting for Obama, so thank you Mr, President.
And like always to my wife "I told you so"
