You Betcha!
During Presidential election years down here in South Carolina, you have to get used to being important for a couple of months before the primary, then slipping back under the deep red covers for the duration. Talk all you want about Georgia and North Carolina, but no one ever mentions South Carolina in the potential "Obama steal" column.
So that is what makes the two mailers I got from Lindsey Graham yesterday and today all the more interesting. To the point: why has "the little jerk" turned his back on John McCain?
Maybe, just maybe, he's scared to death of what's happening around the country.
Maybe he's seen the vote-by-early-absentee lines here in Columbia, with an average wait of three hours.
Maybe he's decided to hedge his bets.
Here's the photographic evidence:
Split our tickets? No chance the "independents" are going to go for McCain? Guess Lindsey ain't going down with the ship.
Yesterday's installment looked like a Democratic mailer:
Nowhere on this mailer does the word "Republican" happen to come up.
"Reform...bipartisan...fought the Bush Administration"
These are just some of the nice words that Lindsey uses to pitch himself in these two mailers.
But there are two words that won't be found on either of these mailers:
"John McCain"
We won't win South Carolina, I don't think, but put this one in the same folder as the McCain robo-calls in Arizona.
We've got them just where we want them.
