My mom made the following observation yesterday.
In speeches, Obama talks about policy. He talks about voters that he knows. He keeps going with his speech.
McCain is different. He stops a lot. He makes a zinger and waits for the applause. [allow me to repeat] ------>> McCain is WAITING for the applause.
I didn't see Saturday Night Live last night. I wonder if it was the same style.
One may deduce that McCain needs applause or his speech just falls flat.
Most of us agree that McCain has latent anger. During a speech, every politician has highs and lows in volume. McCain's loudness comes off as shouting, like a dog barking (I don't know how to phrase it without insulting dogs).
A speech by Barack Obama is both a conversation and a manifesto. (As the crowd cheers, my dog joins in and he gets a treat). The same with Michelle Obama and Joe Biden.
hmmm, I just realized that I've never seen a video of Jill Biden speaking.
