Some in the national media have reported that polls in Vermont open at 5 or 6 a.m., but the vast majority of polling places don't open until 7 or later. Some aren't open until 10 a.m.
If you're not paying close attention, this can be confusing -- and in fact, it confused two people I talked with this morning in Winooski, Vermont, who showed up before 7 and had to leave to go to work. Both said they will probably not be able to vote today because of it.
