I was just poll watching and collecting results from poll watchers in various pricincts in Chicago and at 2:00 they already had upwards of 80% turnout. Yes, in Chicago.
There has been a lot of concern about apathy and I know that Chicago is not exactly rural Virginia or North Carolina, but in a place where the vote will be very one-sided and a fear of apathy was very real, if that many people are turning out to vote, I hope that's a very good sign.
And, yes, even in Chicago there were some Republican tricksters trying to interfere and delay, but the local ground operation is rapid and strong. 45 minutes until the first polls close and butterflies are being replaced by hornets in my stomach and keeping every finger and toe crossed!
