including those who voted for John McCain, not that there will be many on Kos.
It's been an incredible night. I'm from Chicago, originally, the city, not the suburbs, and watching Barack in Grant Park really tugged at the heart strings. I'm proud to have known Barack Obama back in the early 90's, and I'm proud to have voted for him (last week, CO) for President of the United States of America.
If you caught the building behind Obama with the "USA" written in lights on it, I used to work there.
It was strange to see Oprah and Jessie teary-eyed in the crowd like common plebians. I've met them both.
I truly believe, not a word I use lightly ;), that Barack Obama is a transcendental politician.
I've always felt that the biggest failure of the Clinton Administration was to change the nature of discourse, the conversation, in our country.
I believe (that word again), that Barack Obama has the ability to do that. To bring intellectual discourse to the forefront for all people, whether the least educated or the most adamantly ideological of us. This will lead to progressive values, i.e. progress, in our nation.
It's been a truly incredible night. I've been in touch with friends in 4 time zones (sorry AK and HI), including one at the historic event in Grant Park.
Congratulations, America
