The Los Angeles Times has a good updated, county-by-county count on Prop 8 and other Propositions.
It seems like it could still turn around, with 52.7% for and 47.3% against, but only 38% reporting.
But unfortunately, the counties with by far the largest populations (LA, Orange and San Diego) are all trending relatively strongly for the Proposition. About 55-45 in LA and SD and 60-40 in the Orange Curtain. I hope the precincts that haven't reported will switch the tide, but I'm not holding my breath.
This is a fight that still has to be fought and won. Justice and equality will prevail. This is a wonderful night for the United States, but with a wrinkle in California. Voters are to be approving bigotry and discrimination into the state constitution.
Why???
