While acknowledging the prior report from dansac Palin Spending Spree, the important part of that story seems to have been missed.
Taegan Goddard's political wire reports, speaking of the Palin wardrobe,
"a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill."
According to Palin, those clothes were bought for the campaign, not for her, and were not taxable income. Remember?
The legal limit pre-nomination was $2300.
The legal limit on donations post-nomination to the McCain-Palin campaign is ZERO, and under Federal law Palin does not get a separate campaign fund.
In either case, if those clothes were bought pre or post nomination by a wealthy donor, they were an illegal excessive campaign contribution that must be refunded.
Failing a refund, if the donor was shocked when he got the bill, wait until he gets the indictment.
