I am ecstatic that NC turned blue!!! I just wanted to point out that even though critics of the 50 state strategy said NC was impossible, it certainly wasn't! Yet I've heard some sentiment that SC is hopeless. Looking at the county by county breakdown of the Presidential election, I disagree.
I'm overseas right now, and I don't have enough bandwidth to find a comparison of the 2004 election. But if you check out the map on http://www.msnbc.msn.com/... a hell of a lot of SC was OBAMA TERRITORY! 21 counties went blue, of course including Charleston and Columbia (which are the population centers.) Granted, there are 46 counties in SC and a lot of people live in the Greenville area. But we are making progress in what was once solid red territory of the Bible Belt! A little more time, energy, and money, and what was formerly solid red is gonna start looking competitive in elections to come:)
