Not everyone that lives in Utah is a Mormon and not all Mormons supported prop 8. Now there are calls to boycott the entire state of Utah based on the actions of one church. Is this really fair and isn't this sort of ironic?
Now I am left to wonder if the statement 'Hell has no fury like a woman scorned' should really be changed. Just looking today and I come across this post and most concerning is bullet point number 6 - "6. I'd like a list of the top businesses based in Utah."
This is getting out of control, I understand the anger, I understand how this must make people feel but can we please leave Utah out of this. Some of us that live in Utah have tried our best to bring about change and support Democratic candidates. It is an up hill battle but we are trying our best. Please don't punish us for the actions of one church that a good portion of us liberals in Utah have no association to.
Update Check out the map of Utah
See the one blue county, that is Park City, where the ski industry is centered around, boycotting Utah will turn our state even more red if that is possible. Also the one Democratic congressman from Utah, Jim Matheson, needs the support of that county to continue to get elected and keep Pelosi as speaker. Just so everyone understand the ramifications of a boycott.
Also I don't consider the phrase 'Hell has no fury like a woman scorned' derogatory but I probably should have elaborated more. I feel the phrase is used more to denote that when you wrong a women she will come back on you ten fold and even potentially impact those that have nothing to do with the original wrong doing. That is what I feel is going on now. People that have nothing to do with the Mormon church's support of prop 8 are now going to be punished for it. Even those that have worked hard to support the Democratic party and try to make Utah more blue.
